The opportunity
Product & Merchandising Strategy
Insight informed the assortment.
Stitch Fix Kids required range, not a single point of view. I used client behavior, product performance, market intelligence, and emerging trends to determine where to invest. The strategy balanced diverse aesthetics, price, fit and fabrication, differentiated product, and outfitting, giving stylists the breadth they needed to serve each client while identifying opportunities to grow the business.
When COVID rapidly changed how kids were dressing, I used performance signals and OTB flexibility to pull back from dresses and occasion product and redirect investment into activewear and athleisure, meeting demand as it shifted.
I identified sleepwear as an opportunity to grow share of closet and drive repeat purchase, using client demand and product performance to deepen the assortment and grow the category.
With roughly 80% of clients asking for coordinated looks, I built assortments with outfitting in mind, balancing categories, color, print, price, and end use so stylists could create complete, personalized Fixes.
I developed a fabric platforming strategy that cut development time in half. By projecting key fabrics, colors, and prints ahead of final product decisions and securing greige fabric early, we could respond to emerging trends and customer demand without waiting for a full development cycle.
